Her debut came in the movie 'Children of Corn V: Fields of Terror and found herself disappointed by her performance. In order to prove herself, she worked very hard in hone her skills as an actor and appeared in numerous low-budget films. The perseverance and determination paid off. Her name was praised and she received high praise for her performance in the film Training Day after which her acting career began. Her most popular films include 2 Fast and Furious, The Hitch, Ghost Rider Bad Lieutenant Port of Call New Orleans, and Holy Motors.
