Jeanie Marie Buss, an American businesswoman. Her current position is that as president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the owner of the National Basketball Association. The California born Buss was raised in an upper class family. Jerry Buss, her father was a successful entrepreneur with a real estate business who later became owner of Lakers Entertainment and Sports. Her feelings of abandonment were heightened after her parents split in 1972. In the year 19 she was appointed the General Manager for the Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis team. She later set up her own Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. She was the President of Great Western Forum prior to becoming the vice-president of Lakers. Buss, her five brothers and sisters and their father who owned the Lakers and controlled them until his death in 2013, took over the ownership via a trust. Each of them were entitled to equally voting rights. she assumed the duties as the president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss co-owns Women of Wrestling an pro-wrestling promotional business based out of Los Angeles.
